For all future updates, see the wiki. Okay, actually, this is totally just me writing a test entry for something totally unrelated, but it's still true.

Bannerman Book Huge Success

HIVE, AV - After some social stumbling, famed explorer Alexander T. Bannerman has made an amazing comeback into the social scene with the release of his new novel Urban Jungle.

The novel, previously published serially in Iron Horse, is written in much the same style as his tales of adventure amongst the tribes of the Forest in the Clouds and carries with it some ironic and biting comparisons between them and the "civilized" peoples of Avalon.

Mr. Bannerman expects to do a series of lectures promoting the book once he returns a brief sojourn to the country estate of his fiancee, Lily Ironheart, daughter of publishing magnate, Jason Ironheart.

Hautdesert Win Crucial Victory

FORET OBERON, TA - The Haudesert Corporation won an important victory against the savage geurilla attacks of satyri native to the For?t Oberon, when they tracked a wounded satyr back to his base camp and sent his compatriots fleeing into the woods.

Although very few satyri were killed in the conflict, the Hautdesert employess did discover a large cahe of stole weapons, ammunition, and other supplies that the satyri could not take with them as they were driven off.

"It will take them at least another forty days to make up for the loss of these supplies," commented Gareth de Hautdesert, who managed the project.

The raids on the Haudesert logging oerations in Tir Tairngiri had become so costly of late that the corporation was beginning to look for new sources of lumber. However, with this successful strike, operations should be able to continue as normal.

Livre Dragon Lashes Out at Its Keepers

E. INDUSTRY, AV - Fornax, the aged dragon kept by the Livre corporation for processing its stores of goblin iron, suddenly became enreaged and turned on the laborers in the plant, burning and devouring scores of workers.

A melee ensued between a group of rock trolls and Fornax's personal golems as they tried to weaked the field that sustains the ancient wyrm. Three rock trolls were destroyed before Fornax lost the energy to fight.

The Livre corporation has agreed to pay the families of laborers for a full day of work if they were harmed in the conflict.

Riots In The Eastern Slums

E. TENEMENT, AV - When news of the Grant's arrival in Avalon reached the Eastern Tenement District, local figures in the Good Neighbor's Guild declared the day a public holiday so that the twylyth teg could celebrate the anniversary of the peace treaty. The teg were among the first drafted into what has traditionally been seen as a conflict amongst the nobility.

Things turned ugly, however, when a group of boggans was crossing a public square on their way to the Fir Bolg Clothiers mill for second shift. The disagreement started with harsh words which the industrious boggans tried to brush off. The jeers quickly turned to physical violence which spread throughout the district until the local Lunantisidhe warehouse garrison worked in conjunction with a MacCummail construction platoon to protect their property in the tenements.

All those who were killed have been accounted for on this morning's ferry.

Pennycandy Managers Grumble Over Triton Competition

TRITON CLIFFS, AV - The Triton Corporation ship design contest has begun, along with the violent storms the merrows use to test their designs, leading the managers of nearby Pennycandy Park to complain to the Triton board of directors.

"It's absurd," complains B. B. Foxglove, manager of the park. "W get two solid weeks of thunderstorms complete with thick sheets of rain. We can't afford to shut down the park for that long."

In addition to making it difficult for visitors to enjoy a day out at Penncandy Park, the storms occasionally cause lasting damage to the rides and force the cancellations of some of the most popular shows, such as the burning tenement.

Still, others like Lorn Maple enjoy the excitement that the storms bring to the already hair-raising rides. "Once, I heard a Tiltawhirl car flew right off its mooring, what a thrill!"

Many employees of the park, especially the acrobats, have refused to work as long as the storms continue, in spite of threats of being replaced. So far, Foxglove has decided to keep the park open, though some of the rides or events may be closed or cancelled.

The Triton Corporation board of directors had no comment on the complaints made by Foxglove.

Controversial Club To Hold Lecture

BUSINESS DISTRICT, AV-- The controversial gentleman's club, Cabaret Voltaire, will be sponsoring a lecture by its gremlin, Confucius Cog.

The gremlin's lecture, entitled "Mechanical Thinking in a Quantum World," is expected to continue the gremlin's personal attacks on influential coblynaus craftsmen, rather than actually explaining what this so-called "Quantum" world really is.

Jasper Johns Emerges From Quarantine

BUSINESST DISTRICT, AV - Jasper Johns, suspected by many to be the legendary Whisper, was seen in public for the first time since the initial outbreak of Iron Lung. The Whisper has gained almost universal motoriety for his knowledge of human inventions, as well as his suspected dealings with gremlins and the Banco di Cesare. While Johns claims to be sidhe living on a modest pension from his family, none of the major families will claim to be related to this mysterious figure. Johns was the first faerie outside of the gremlins to become infected with the disease, and one of a very small number to have actually survived it. His appearance in the business district caused a mixture of fear and amazement. Johns has no comment on the diease, or his possible connection to The Whisper.

Fifty Years of Peace!

WESTGATE, AV - Yesterday The Grant walked through the west gates of Avalon, marking the start of a new year. This year, however, the revelries are not restricted to the upper crust of the corporations, with their tallies and profits for the year gone by. Public concerts and dances have been scheduled in almost every district throughout the Avalon season, as this year marks the anniversary of the Ubu-Fiachra peace accords at the end of the Great War.

The peace accords marked the official acceptance of the first unseelie Ard Righ of Arcadia and the abolishment of of government under the anti-laws. Since then, no sidhe has claimed authority over commoners, established a standing army, or levied taxes. The feudal system of landed lords fell away and the corporations were formed, offering honest wages for honest labor to any commoner who was qualified. Since then, his highness has only made one public appearance, perhaps out of fear that old court loyalties may lead to an assasination attempt.

Public dances will be held this evening in the West Industrial District and in the Old City, featuring live music and refreshments. For further details, see your regional paper.
